Thomas West Urges Afghans to "Speak With One Voice"

US special envoy Thomas West in a meeting with several Afghan women in Turkey emphasized the need to talk with the Islamic Emirate about a brighter future for Afghans.
“I urged Afghans, both inside and outside Afghanistan to organize & speak with one voice to their communities and to the Taliban about a brighter future for their children and families. Their voices and their courage in advocating locally for their rights are powerful, Thomas West.
Meanwhile the Islamic Emirate called on citizens outside to return to their country and participate in the progress of the country.
"It's not necessary that every Afghan who comes to the country be in a leadership or governmental position, but we promise to make an area for them to serve their country," said Zabiullah Mujahid, the Islamic Emirate spokesman.
Meanwhile, several political analysts and university instructors said that the return of Afghans to the country is important for the country's progress.
"Our main dialogue consists of Afghans talking with Afghans, Afghans have to negotiate about a solution for current challenges in Afghanistan with the Taliban," said Suraya Paikan, a women's rights activist.
"In the current situation, the return of young and educated generations will have good effects on the progress of the country," said Farddin Ayar, a university instructor.
The EU special envoy for Afghanistan, Tomas Niklasson, said that EU will continue to interact with Kabul despite there being no decision on recognizing the Islamic Emirate.
